Borderfree launches their IPO Friday March 21, 2014. Ponder this Bear Case Scenario:
They claim: “Borderfree manages all aspects of the international shopping experience, including site localization, multi-currency pricing, payment processing, fraud management, landed cost calculation, customs clearance and brokerage, and global logistics services while maintaining the integrity of our customers’ brands and the consumer experience.”
That is an exceptional large statement. International commerce is a complex organism with many moving parts. What you had figured out yesterday is new tomorrow. Also many jurisdictions are corrupt and need local fixers. A software solution will not address the local complexities as an officious customs official holds your shipment pending a paperwork problem.
