Last week I walked around Zuccotti park on Monday morning and then Friday morning. I tried to find someone who knew anything about the following topics
- Value Investing
- Dividend Growth
- Short Selling
- Margin Call
- IRA/401K
Guess how many people could speak to the issue? I was greeted with blank staresfollowed by shrugs. Not even a desire to understand some very fundamental concepts. It just seemed black and white to them. Wall St is bad, case closed, that’s all we need to know.
BTW NYPD officers are enjoying some unprecedented over time. Given the size of the police presence when normally the park would not even have one officer the overtime must be flowing generously. All courtesy of New York City tax payers. So when OWS screams about the 1% being too rich what about the average citizen who now looks at bigger cutbacks because of Zuccotti Park.
Disclosure: George Gutowski writes from a caveat emptor perspective. I am not part of the OWS movement and do not believe they will be effective in correcting any imbalances in society.
